Noah Kahan Begs Fans to Stop Stealing Road Sign from Hit Song
Noah Kahan Pleads with Fans to Stop Stealing Road Sign

Chart-topping folk pop artist Noah Kahan has publicly pleaded with fans to stop stealing a road sign mentioned in his 2022 hit song 'The View Between Villages'. In a stern social media statement, the Grammy-nominated singer addressed the repeated thefts of the Alger Brook Road sign in Strafford, Vermont, where he grew up.

Fan Behavior Disrupts Small Town

Kahan, known for viral hits like 'Stick Season' and 'The Great Divide', wrote: 'To the fans travelling to the upper valley, I’ve been informed that the Alger Brook Road sign in Strafford has been repeatedly stolen. It is a total disrespect to the folks who live on that road and a headache for the town to deal with. I used to live on Alger Brook.' The song lyric 'Passed Alger Brook Road, I’m over the bridge / A minute from home, but I feel so far from it' has become a TikTok staple, driving fans to the location.

Kahan Offers to Pay for Replacements

Kahan apologized to residents and offered to fund replacements, stating: 'I hate that because I put the road name in a song that some people have taken that as an invitation to disrupt the lives of the hardworking and kind folks who frequent it.' He encouraged Strafford locals to contact him for 'potential solutions'. The artist also reminded fans to respect his family's privacy and the sanctuary of his hometown.

Kahan released his fourth studio album, 'The Great Divide', earlier this year and is currently on a sold-out world tour. The sign thefts echo similar phenomena around other musically immortalized locations like Taylor Swift's Cornelia Street or The Beatles' Penny Lane.
