TV chef Nigella Lawson has sold her £5 million London mews house, the family home she moved into after her marriage to Charles Saatchi ended in 2013. The property, located in a quiet street once lined with stables, became a sanctuary for Lawson and her children, Cosima and Bruno.
The home is rumoured to include a cinema, wine cellar, expansive open-plan kitchen, library-style dining room, and a verdant garden. Lawson, known for her playful culinary persona, had lived there for over a decade following her high-profile split from Saatchi.
Lawson's personal life has been marked by tragedy and upheaval. Her first husband, journalist John Diamond, died of throat cancer in 2001, just three years after the success of her debut cookbook, How To Eat. Diamond had encouraged her to leave journalism and pursue food writing, helping to shape her into a national treasure.
In 2003, Lawson married advertising mogul Charles Saatchi. The marriage ended in 2013 after photographs emerged of Saatchi with his hand around Lawson's throat outside a Mayfair restaurant. Lawson later testified in court about the incident, describing it as part of a pattern of emotional abuse.
Despite these challenges, Lawson has remained a beloved figure in British television, known for her distinctive voice and double entendres. The sale of her London home marks the end of an era for the chef, who has not publicly commented on the move.
