Molly-Mae Hague Finally Breaks Silence on Drastic Baby Name Change for Bambi
Molly-Mae reveals why she changed baby's name to Bambi

Love Island sensation Molly-Mae Hague has broken her social media silence to address the burning question on everyone's minds - why she and boxer boyfriend Tommy Fury chose the unconventional name Bambi for their newborn daughter.

The 23-year-old influencer, who welcomed her first child with the professional boxer last month, took to YouTube to share intimate details about their parenting journey and the emotional reasoning behind their unique name choice.

The Name That Almost Was

In a heartfelt revelation, Molly-Mae confessed that the couple had originally settled on a completely different name for their baby girl. "We'd had her name picked out since I was about 20 weeks pregnant," she shared with her 1.7 million subscribers.

However, in a dramatic last-minute change, the couple decided the original name no longer suited their newborn when they finally met her. "When she arrived, we both looked at her and thought 'you are not a...' - I'm not going to say the name, but you are not that name," Molly-Mae explained.

The Emotional Connection to Bambi

The PLT creative director revealed that Bambi held special significance for Tommy, who had cherished the name since his childhood. "It's always been a name that I've loved and was always on my list," she said. "But when we thought about it for our baby, I was like, 'No, you can't call a human Bambi. It's just not acceptable.'"

However, Tommy's persistence and their daughter's arrival changed everything. "When she came out, we both said she looks like a Bambi," Molly-Mae recalled emotionally. "We just kept calling her that, and it stuck."

Addressing the Critics

The new mother didn't shy away from acknowledging the mixed reactions to their unconventional name choice. "I know it's going to cause a lot of controversy," she admitted. "People are either going to love it or hate it."

She defended their decision by highlighting the name's uniqueness and personal meaning. "It's different, it's unusual... I've never heard of anyone called Bambi before," Molly-Mae stated, adding that they wanted something "really really different and unusual."

The couple joins other celebrities like Molly-Mae's sister-in-law Paris Fury and reality star Megan Barton-Hanson in choosing distinctive names for their children, continuing the trend of unique celebrity baby names that capture public attention.
