Meghan Markle could be set for the “ultimate revenge” if she publishes her own memoir, an expert has claimed, potentially shattering any chances of reconciliation with the Royal Family. Rumours about the Duchess of Sussex's explosive book have circulated for years, following Prince Harry's memoir Spare, released in early 2023.
Could Meghan's Memoir Outshine Harry's?
Harry made headlines with Spare, which contained numerous accusations against the Royal Family. Three years later, there is still no confirmation whether Meghan will write a book or what it might include. Royal commentator Emily Andrews of Woman and Home suggested that if rumours are true, Meghan's memoir would be “bigger than Spare.”
Andrews described the potential memoir as an “ultimate first-hand account” that would not just be a “publishing phenomenon” but an “extended multi-platform event including interviews, streaming components and global rights deals.” She added that the “appetite would surely be huge” and could surpass Prince Harry's reported £16 million advance.
Meghan's Detailed Records
Reports claim the Duchess has kept a detailed diary. A publishing insider told the Daily Mail: “Voice notes on her phone at 1am. Written journals. Structured reflections. She has been documenting everything since before Megxit.”
Risky Timing for Reconciliation
Despite Meghan reportedly seeing the memoir as an “opportunity for a reset,” Andrews warned the timing is “risky” as Harry works to mend the rift with his family. “Harry is desperately trying to mend his relationship with his father, King Charles, and a new Meghan memoir could derail that,” she said.
Harry is said to be pleased that Archie, seven, and Lili, five, have occasional chats and video calls with their grandfather. Andrews noted: “So Meghan knows a book is a risk – but it's also leverage.” She concluded: “You can bet your bottom dollar that much of her memoir is already written. It's really just a question of when she'll decide to publish.”
