Meghan Markle 'banned dad from seeing grandkids in brutal final letter' after sex abuse claims
Meghan Markle 'banned dad from seeing grandkids in final letter'

Meghan Markle reportedly told her elderly father he would never meet her children in a "brutal" final letter, after being made aware of "troubling and disturbing" allegations of child sexual abuse against him. The Duchess of Sussex, 45, is said to have completely cut ties with Thomas Markle Sr, now 82, in a message sent in December 2025, telling him it was "the absolute last time" he would ever hear from her.

In the same letter, Meghan reportedly vowed that she would never allow him to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, insisting the separation was to protect them. The letter's contents have been reported by The Sun after Filipino authorities and the FBI launched a criminal investigation against Markle Sr.

Allegations and Investigation

Meghan's estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, submitted a sworn statement to police claiming he found boxes containing thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos at their father's former home in the Philippines. Markle Sr, now living in a rehabilitation centre, has fiercely denied the claims, branding them "sick lies".

The Sun reports that Meghan referenced the allegations directly in her final letter, warning her father she knew what was being said and that "authorities were aware" of the allegations. At the time, Markle Sr was in hospital in the Philippines recovering from a leg amputation caused by a blood clot.

Meghan's Statement and Apology

Following the public exposure of the investigation, Meghan issued an official statement saying she was "deeply distressed" and revealed UK police had shared details with her eight years earlier, in 2018, shortly after she married Prince Harry. She said the letter from police outlined "troubling and disturbing allegations" against her father, the BBC reported.

Hitting back at years of criticism, she wrote: "I hope it can now be understood that… my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them." Thomas Markle Jr has since issued a public apology to Meghan, admitting he spent years defending the "wrong person" and now understands why she cut their father off.
