Celebrity Traitors stars Maya Jama and King Kenny are "just mates", according to insiders, who have moved to end speculation about a romance between the pair. The two became central figures in the latest series of the BBC show, and their on-screen partnership prompted fans to wonder if there was more to their relationship.

A source close to Maya has now addressed the rumours, which grew following their performances as Traitors in the turret. The source told us: "They're just mates. Nothing romantic there."
Insiders insist the pair are "genuinely really good friends" but that Maya is "single and enjoying time with her friends." The speculation was fuelled when social media personality Kenny was pictured leaving Maya's London home.
Fans react to friendship
A source told The Sun at the time: "Maya and Kenny are just friends. There is nothing romantic between them. Kenny has been firmly on the sofa this week and the pair find it hilarious that their relationship could be anything else."
"They've seen fans of the show talking about them online and find it really funny, but romance has not and is not on the cards. Maya has a group of friends staying with her at the moment and Kenny has also been coming to hang out with them." The source added that they have all been watching the Traitors final together, as well as preparing costumes for a Halloween party.

The romance speculation follows comments Kenny made about Maya on Celebrity Traitors. Kenny told his co-stars: "If Maya is a Traitor I will never look at her in the same way." Comedian Romesh Ranganathan then responded: "Well first of all I don't believe that for a second," as everyone in the car laughed.
