Maura Higgins Opens Up About Beauty Secrets and Career Moves
Television personality Maura Higgins has candidly discussed the cosmetic procedures she has undergone, addressing fan speculation about her dramatically youthful and transformed appearance. The 35-year-old star participated in an Instagram Q&A session on Friday, where she clarified her beauty regimen while firmly denying any surgical interventions.
Botox and Filler Details Revealed
During the interactive session, Maura explained that she receives regular Botox injections every six to eight months but has abstained from lip filler for over three and a half years. She emphasised that these are the only tweakments she has pursued, countering widespread online rumours about more extensive procedures.
'I've always been very open about this,' Maura stated. 'I do get Botox every 6-8 months, and I had lip filler years ago but haven't had any in over 3.5 years now. Other than that, I haven't had anything else done.'
She expressed frustration with viral videos that dissect her appearance, attributing her changing look to natural evolution over time rather than secret surgeries.
Makeup, Lighting, and Skincare Factors
Maura highlighted several non-invasive elements that contribute to her public image. She pointed to makeup techniques, lighting conditions, camera angles, and even eyebrow styling as factors that can radically alter facial perceptions.
'And things like make-up lighting, angles, even how you do your brows or contour can completely change how your face looks,' she elaborated. 'There are so many factors that go into it.'
Additionally, she credited a strict skincare routine and avoidance of sunbathing for maintaining her youthful complexion, noting these habits as crucial for skin health.
Career Developments and Industry Buzz
Amid these personal revelations, Maura's professional career is reportedly gaining momentum in the United States. Fresh from her success on The Traitors US, where she reached the final, insiders suggest she is in discussions for a project with Disney.
According to sources, the Irish model has been reviewing scripts for Disney, though she remains discreet about the details. An insider commented: 'Maura is keeping her cards close to her chest but she couldn’t help but tell pals she’s reading scripts for Disney. Everyone – including Maura – is stunned at how well her career in the US is going.'
Potential Bachelorette Role Emerges
In a separate development, Maura is rumoured to be a contender for the next season of The Bachelorette. This follows the sudden cancellation of the upcoming season, which was scrapped after lead Taylor Frankie Paul was involved in a domestic violence incident.
Season 22 was scheduled to premiere on March 22 but was pulled days before launch after a 2023 video surfaced showing Taylor attacking her ex-boyfriend. Disney executives cited the video as the reason for cancellation, stating their focus was on supporting the affected family.
Gossip site Deux Moi reported an anonymous tip suggesting ABC executives are considering Maura as a replacement, potentially filming the season live. The cancellation could incur significant financial losses, with production costs estimated at $2 million per episode.
Maura's representatives have been contacted for comment on these career rumours, but no official statements have been released at this time.
