Marc Anthony has addressed the ongoing feud involving the Beckham family for the first time, calling the situation 'extremely unfortunate' and suggesting that the narrative is 'hardly the truth'. The 57-year-old Latin singer and actor was dragged into the controversy after a wedding dance incident involving Victoria Beckham.
The feud erupted when Brooklyn Beckham posted a scathing six-page Instagram statement accusing his mother of 'humiliating' him. DJ Fat Tony, who played at the wedding, claimed on This Morning that Marc called Victoria onto the stage when everyone expected him to dance with his wife, leaving Brooklyn 'devastated' and Nicola in tears.
Speaking exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter, Marc said: 'I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz.' He added: 'It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out — but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.'
Despite the drama, David Beckham showed support by liking Marc's Instagram post promoting his Las Vegas residency. Son Romeo also liked the post. This comes after a source told Metro that David is 'obviously heartbroken' over Brooklyn covering up a tattoo dedicated to his father.
The source confirmed that David still has his tribute to Brooklyn — the nickname 'Buster' on his neck — and has no plans to cover it up.
