Louise Redknapp has been left "heartbroken" following the death of her dog Rudi, announcing the loss on social media on Wednesday.
The former Eternal singer, 51, who was married to Jamie Redknapp from 1998 until 2017 and has Charley, 21, and 17-year-old Beau with him, shared the news of her canine companion's passing at the age of 12.
Emotional tribute to Rudi
On Instagram, she wrote: "Our hearts are broken, our gorgeous boy Rudi went to sleep forever today. Thank you for 12 amazing years of love and memories Rudes, you were the most gentle, loving boy, you’ve grown old watching Chaz and Beau grow up and kept Banks in check from day one and been my shadow since the day we got you as a tiny wrinkly puppy."
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant concluded her post by saying she and her family will miss the pooch, but acknowledged he will be "reunited" with her dog Blu, who passed away in 2022.
Support from celebrity friends
Louise was quickly supported by celebrity pals, with Spice Girl Emma Bunton writing: "I'm so sorry Louise, heartbroken for you. Sending love." This Morning presenter Cat Deeley penned: "Sending all my love," whilst former Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass simply wrote: "so sorry louise."
Amber Davies, who starred alongside Louise in the Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5, said: "Oh Lou, sending you so much love," and Kate Ferdinand said: "Oh Lou...the worst feeling x" All Saints stars Nicole and Natalie Appleton also sent condolences, as did former EastEnders actresses Tamzin Outhwaite and Denise Van Outen as well as Westlife's Brian McFadden and Dannii Minogue.
Previous loss of Blu
Loose Women anchor Ruth Langsford announced earlier this week that her dog Maggie had passed away, and was also quick to send an emotional message to her friend. She wrote: "Oh darling I'm so sorry...we lost ou beautiful Maggie this week. Feeling your pain and sending you and the boys massive love. Hold your memories close."
In 2022, Louise shared a similarly emotional post when her dog Blu passed away, writing about missing her and thanking followers for their support. She wrote: "I wanted to share this with you because I know so many of you follow their insta page and loved seeing what Blu and Rudi were up to and loved them as much as we did."
