Connor Michael Murphy, a 32-year-old American fitness influencer and looksmaxxer, died on July 7, 2026, in Bang Phli, Thailand, after allegedly trashing his luxury rental home and jumping naked into a lake. According to reports, Murphy believed in biohacking and the mystical power of injecting liquid gold to achieve superhuman abilities.
Incident Details
Murphy was pulled from a 10-metre-deep lake after behaving erratically. A security guard reported that Murphy arrived by taxi, shouting, rolling on the tarmac, and lifting his arms as if praying. When police arrived, he charged into the estate, plunged into the lake, swam until exhausted, and disappeared underwater.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Santirat Ngernman stated: "When we arrived, he became agitated with the officers and refused to let anyone approach him." Witnesses did not enter the water due to its depth.
Beliefs and Biohacking Claims
According to International Business Times, Murphy believed in biohacking and the power of gold. YouTube biohacker Tony Huge claimed: "Up until his passing, he was discovering that he had achieved some superhuman abilities, and it's no joke; he actually did achieve some superhuman abilities. He had tapped into a level of consciousness that most people never will."
Another individual named Androgenic said Murphy "started to believe that gold was some gatekept mineral by the higher-ups that basically gives you special powers if you ingest it." These claims have not been confirmed by Thai authorities, and an official cause of death has not been released.
Partner's Account and Evidence
Murphy's 22-year-old partner, who had been with him for three years, said they moved into the 22 million THB (£493,000) rental home three months earlier. She stated it was the first time he had acted this way and was baffled by the episode. She claimed the trouble began when he threw paint throughout the rental while she slept.
Police found two unused syringes in Murphy's car and numerous unidentified white tablets in his bum bag. His partner said she never saw him take drugs. The landlord discovered paint splattered on furniture and electronics.
Social Media Presence
Murphy had nearly three million followers across social media platforms, where he shared comedy, bodybuilding, fitness, and philosophy content. No signs of assault were found on his body.
