Kylie Jenner has revealed that she has turned down multiple acting opportunities due to fear, but her recent cameo in a mockumentary has reignited her interest in pursuing more roles.
Jenner Opens Up About Career Regrets
The 28-year-old influencer and cosmetics mogul appeared on Thursday's episode of Jake Shane's podcast, where she discussed her brief appearance in Aidan Zamiri's satirical film The Moment, starring Charli XCX. The cameo, which aired in January, marked her official acting debut and has encouraged her to seek further opportunities.
"A few things have come my way that I've said no to that honestly, I kind of regret," Jenner confessed. "But it's okay because something else will happen." She explained that the offers often left her with insufficient time to decide, leading her to decline out of fear. "I get in my head about it and I end up saying no out of fear," she added.
A History of Turning Down Roles
The Kylie Cosmetics founder has previously spoken about rejecting acting roles. In an interview with Vanity Fair in March, she revealed plans to actively seek more acting opportunities after turning down several scripts. "I've actually gotten a few scripts, nothing that I feel is right yet, but I one hundred percent want to do more," she stated at the time. She also expressed a preference for comedy, saying, "I really like comedy. I think I'm good at it."
The Moment Cameo
Jenner's scene in The Moment, a satirical comedy chronicling a fictionalized buildup to Charli XCX's world tour, featured an exaggerated version of herself. The scene, which went viral on X, was filmed at Jenner's home in Palm Springs. She revealed that the idea for the cameo started as a joke. "I was like, 'Well, if you want me to be in it, I would love to,'" she told Vanity Fair. "They came back, and Charli was really excited, and they legitimately wrote me into the script, and I was like, 'Oh s***. Now I have to do it.'"
Comfort Zone and Hollywood Connections
Despite her initial hesitation, Jenner described the project as a "comfortable avenue" for her acting debut due to her relationships with the director and Charli XCX. Having grown up on camera since the age of nine on the family reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jenner is no stranger to the spotlight. Additionally, her relationship with Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, which has lasted over three years, further connects her to Hollywood's inner circle.
With her newfound confidence and a desire to embrace comedy, Jenner is now open to more acting opportunities, waiting for the right role to come along.
