Kylie Jenner Marks First Anniversary of Hairstylist Jesus Guerrero's Passing
Kylie Jenner, the 28-year-old founder of Kylie Cosmetics, has shared a heartfelt tribute on the first anniversary of the tragic passing of celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero. Guerrero died unexpectedly at age 34 from pneumonia and a fungal infection related to AIDS complications.
Emotional Social Media Tributes
Jenner, who boasts over 564 million social media followers, posted a black-and-white photograph on her Instagram Story with the caption '222 I miss you.' This follows a previous tribute in August when she purchased a small cake to honor what would have been Guerrero's birthday, writing: 'Not a day goes by that we don't think about you @jesushair...you're forever loved and missed.'
In her original tribute last year, Jenner described Guerrero as 'a true artist' and expressed profound grief, stating: 'Jesus was more than my friend - he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support. I don't know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter.'
Details of Guerrero's Death and Funeral
Reports indicate that in the weeks leading up to his death, Guerrero had lost approximately 20 pounds and was experiencing symptoms including chills and hot flashes. His death was attributed to pneumonia combined with a fungal infection stemming from AIDS-related complications.
Jenner attended Guerrero's Celebration of Life service in his hometown of Houston, Texas, on March 30. The event was also attended by Jennifer Lopez, another of Guerrero's high-profile clients. Notably, Jenner offered to cover all funeral expenses, as confirmed by Guerrero's younger sister Gris in a GoFundMe update. The family raised $96,000 from an $80,000 goal, with funds used to secure his belongings and settle unexpected expenses related to his assets.

Jesus Guerrero was a highly sought-after hairstylist whose client list included numerous A-list celebrities:

- Casandra 'Cassie' Fine
- Rosalía
- Demi Moore
- Charli XCX
- Camila Cabello
- Dua Lipa

Shay Mitchell also paid tribute on Sunday, writing: 'Love you and miss you forever.'
Jenner's Current Activities and Relationship
Looking ahead, Kylie Jenner is expected to accompany her boyfriend, actor Timothée Chalamet, to the 32nd Actor Awards on March 1, which will be streamed on Netflix. Chalamet is nominated for outstanding male actor in a leading role and outstanding cast in a motion picture.
Chalamet will also compete for two awards at the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, airing on ABC and Hulu, where he's nominated for best picture and best actor in a leading role for his performance in Marty Supreme. During his Critics Choice speech on January 4, Chalamet thanked Jenner, saying: 'To my partner of three years, thank you for our foundation, I love you.'
The couple, who share mutual friend designer Haider Ackermann, first met in 2019 at Nobu Malibu but only confirmed their relationship publicly in 2023. Chalamet's previous romantic relationships include actress Lily-Rose Depp, Eiza González, and Lourdes Leon, Madonna's eldest daughter.
