The man who officiated Katie Price's whirlwind fourth marriage to businessman Lee Andrews has shared intimate details about the couple's small, hastily arranged Dubai ceremony, revealing it was originally scheduled to occur a full day earlier.
Last-Minute Changes and Poolside Guests
Celebrant DJ Darryl Rees explained to The Sun that he received a phone call just one hour before the initially planned ceremony time. The service was subsequently postponed and rescheduled for the following day at the luxurious One & Only The Palm resort on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, where rooms can command up to £1,500 per night.
Darryl described the couple as "giggling, hugging each other, holding each other’s hand, laughing" when he first met them. He noted they "couldn't keep their hands off each other." The eventual ceremony was witnessed by an unconventional wedding party: three hotel staff members and two hotel guests whom Darryl believes the couple met by the pool earlier that day.
A Rush for Vows and Personal Details
The celebrant revealed that Lee Andrews left it remarkably late to provide the personal details needed for the ceremony. "Because time was against us. I was like, ‘when you get a chance, can you send me a voice note with all the details?'" Darryl recounted. It wasn't until close to midnight on Saturday that Lee finally sent through the necessary information, which included a voice note discussing their tattoos.
Despite the rushed nature, Darryl emphasized the couple's certainty. They opted for traditional vows, with Lee enthusiastically responding "I do. I 100% do I’m very in love" to each question. Darryl firmly believes speculation about the marriage's impulsiveness is unfounded, stating the pair were "very certain" about their decision.
"A Feeling They Had Never Experienced Before"
Darryl shared a poignant insight from his conversations with the groom. "Lee said, when we were exchanging messages back and forth about the personal stuff, that from the moment they met, they both felt something they had never experienced before," the celebrant revealed, underscoring the depth of the connection between the former glamour model, 47, and the 43-year-old businessman.
