Katie Price and Kieran Hayler's relationship, which began with a whirlwind romance and a secret Bahamas wedding in 2013, was plagued by problems from the start. The couple faced multiple affairs, a years-long bitter divorce, and culminated in Hayler being acquitted of rape charges in court this month.
How They Met and Married
Kieran Hayler, a builder and part-time stripper, met Katie Price in 2012 on Blackberry Messenger, less than two months after she split from fiancé Leandro Penna. They were first spotted together at a charity ladies' night, and Hayler posted a photo of them kissing online.
Hayler proposed on Christmas Day 2012, and they married on January 16, 2013, at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa in the Bahamas in front of just six guests. A month later, Price became pregnant with her fourth child.
Affairs and Sex Addiction Claims
In May 2014, Price revealed that Hayler had cheated on her with her best friend Jane Pountney. The affair had lasted over seven months, starting in September 2013. Hayler later claimed he had a sex addiction and began seeing a therapist in June 2014.
However, during his rape trial in 2026, Hayler said the sex addiction was made up for "publicity". He told jurors that Katie and her management "created a narrative" to generate headlines and income.
Final Split and Legal Battles
In August 2017, Price confirmed she was divorcing Hayler after exposing his affair with their nanny Nikki Brown. Their relationship continued to be strained, with Price pleading guilty to using abusive and threatening behaviour towards Hayler's then-girlfriend Michelle Penticost in 2018.
In May 2022, Price pled guilty to breaching a restraining order and was handed an 18-month community order. Hayler was acquitted of three counts of rape and one of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl in 2026, with the jury returning verdicts after 14 hours and 55 minutes of deliberation.
