Katie Piper, 41, has shared a series of stunning photos from a family holiday in France, where she is enjoying a restorative break. The mother-of-two posted a carousel of images on Instagram, including a mirror selfie in a frilly butter yellow bikini, a video of her jumping into a pool with her daughters Belle and Penelope, and a snap of her husband Richard Sutton cooking a BBQ.
The TV presenter and activist captioned the post: 'A few restorative days at @thefrenchmanor with amazing friends, delicious food, and endless laughs. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful backdrop to recharge.' The French Manor, a six-bedroom villa with two acres of gardens and a heated outdoor pool, provided the setting for the getaway.
Piper, who has been in and out of hospital since a horrific acid attack in 2008, described the holiday as a chance to recharge. She also shared a photo of her current reading material, 'The Unexpected Patient', a book of Kiwi medical stories.
Reflecting on her marriage to Richard Sutton, Piper admitted that long-term relationships require effort. 'I think marriage is actually really hard,' she told the Mirror. 'It's partnership and it's compromising... I haven’t found it easy to be in a long-term marriage, but I found it worth it, definitely.'
Piper also spoke about balancing family life with her career, saying she tries not to rush through time with her children. 'I put my phone on flight mode for those two hours so there aren’t any distractions,' she explained, referring to bedtime routines.
