Katherine Ryan: Katie Price a Tragic Greek Hero

Katherine Ryan has described Katie Price as a 'tragic Greek hero' during an interview with the Daily Star, while also making a cheeky joke about having sex with Katie's ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers. The 43-year-old comedian shared her thoughts on the former glamour model, who stars in the Sky documentary series 'Nothing to Hide'.

Katherine Ryan's Praise for Katie Price

Ryan insisted that the 48-year-old reality star is 'really nice' and a 'wonderful mother', despite the controversies that have surrounded Price over the years. 'I've met Katie Price. I think she's really nice,' Ryan said. 'But what first drew me to Jordan the character was when I came to this country in 2007. I learned about her life and her unapologetic way of doing what she wanted, but underlined by being this wonderful mother. I was just moved by her story.'

Comparing Katie Price to a Tragic Greek Hero

Ryan elaborated on her comparison, stating: 'I see the way that her life has played out in the media since then and she is a tragic Greek hero, almost. She makes big mistakes and then she has big successes and her relationship with men and her body and her family and so on. It's all so captivating to me, but ultimately I think she's a winner and the British public are just rooting for Katie Price.'

A Cheeky Joke About Dane Bowers

Ryan couldn't resist adding a lighthearted comment about Dane Bowers, who appears in Price's documentary. She quipped: 'I haven't had sex with Dane Bowers yet, but that's how I want my entertainers. My language of love is for someone to tell me everything they can about themselves and Katie Price gives us that.'

Katie Price's Documentary and Personal Struggles

In her four-part Sky documentary 'Nothing to Hide', Price opened up about her struggles with drugs and how it affected her ability to be present for her children. She said: 'It [drugs] was the only thing that blocked everything out. It will take out that pain, it will take out any worry, it will take out the noise. When I hear what the kids, how they saw it, it breaks my heart. But they were still always looked after, I still had people around me looking after them, like helping me.' She added: 'I was unwell. I couldn't even look after myself. I was more than rock bottom. I didn't want to be. I wanted to die. I felt worthless, suicidal thoughts all the time.'
