Britney Spears and her sister Jamie Lynn have become embroiled in a public dispute following Jamie Lynn's recent television interview to promote her new memoir, 'Things I Should Have Said'. The pop star accused her younger sibling of using the interview to sell the book 'at my expense'.
In a series of tweets, Britney claimed Jamie Lynn had 'never had to work for anything' and that the family 'love to pull me down and hurt me'. She expressed frustration that her sister discussed her past behaviour, which Britney described as 'out of control', despite Jamie Lynn not being around her much 15 years ago.
Jamie Lynn responded on Instagram, stating that Britney's statements were 'absolutely not the truth' and that she has always been there for her sister. She also mentioned having to explain to her children 'why our family continues to get death threats, as a result of their aunt's vague and accusatory posts'.
The rift comes amid ongoing tensions over Britney's 13-year conservatorship, which ended in November. Jamie Lynn said in the interview that she was her sister's 'biggest supporter' and took steps to help end the conservatorship, but Britney has repeatedly criticised her family's role in the arrangement.
