Jaclyn Smith, the iconic star of Charlie's Angels, has revealed the simple secret behind her remarkably youthful appearance at age 80. When asked about her beauty tips at the Paley Honors Spring Gala in New York City, the actress offered a succinct four-word explanation: 'Clean living, being loved.'
Family and Love at the Core
Speaking with Fox News Digital, Smith elaborated on her philosophy. 'I have the best family in the whole wide world to grow up with. Great husband, two beautiful children, three granddaughters. So, it doesn't get better than that. It's all about love, all about family with me.' The star has been married to her fourth husband, surgeon Brad Allen, since 1997.
A Legacy on Charlie's Angels
Smith portrayed Kelly Garrett on the original Charlie's Angels series from 1976 to 1981, making her the only Angel to appear in all five seasons. The show, which followed undercover female detectives, celebrated its 50th anniversary in May 2026. Smith reunited with former co-stars Kate Jackson and Cheryl Ladd on the red carpet of the Paley Honors Spring Gala on May 14.
Reflecting on the milestone, Smith wrote on Instagram: 'Hello from The Paley Honors gala in New York! What a treat to celebrate again with my friends from the Paley Center. Kate and I were so lucky to attend and accept this on behalf of our Charlie's Angels family, continuing in our celebration of 50 years since the launch of the series. Grateful doesn't begin to encompass how I feel to have been and continue to be a part of that legacy.'
Kate Jackson also expressed her amazement at the show's enduring popularity. 'Oh, it's wonderful. I mean, that we would be here 50 years later, 50 years after the debut, and it's still on television all over the world, never has gone off. It's just really amazing.'
Cultural Impact and Style Icon Status
The original ABC crime drama starred Smith, Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett as private investigators who left the police academy to work for their mysterious boss. The series became a pop culture phenomenon, inspiring a film franchise in the 2000s starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu.
Smith admitted she never anticipated becoming a style icon. 'When I was starting out, no. But I guess we did pave the way for some glamor and looking at women in a different way. We sort of paved that way for new roles for women.'
