I'm a Celebrity Set to Return to Original Australian Jungle Location in 2024
I'm a Celebrity returns to Australian jungle for 2024

ITV has announced that the hit reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! will make a triumphant return to its original Australian jungle location for the 2024 series. This marks the end of its temporary relocation to Gwrych Castle in Wales, which served as the production base during COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Back to the Jungle

The show's producers confirmed that filming will resume in New South Wales, Australia, where the series originally ran from 2002 until 2019. The lush rainforest setting near Murwillumbah became synonymous with the programme's iconic bushtucker trials and celebrity antics.

Why the Move Back?

An ITV spokesperson stated: "While we're grateful to Wales for hosting us during challenging times, the Australian jungle is the spiritual home of I'm a Celebrity. The production team can't wait to return to the spectacular scenery and wildlife that made the show so beloved."

Viewers can expect:

  • Classic jungle challenges with local wildlife
  • The return of the famous rope bridge
  • Authentic Australian bush settings
  • Potential extreme weather conditions adding drama

What About Presenters?

While no official confirmation has been made about presenting duties, it's widely expected that Ant and Dec will continue their hosting roles. The duo have fronted the show since its inception, becoming as much a part of the programme as the jungle itself.

The 2024 series is scheduled to air in November, maintaining its traditional pre-Christmas slot. ITV executives hope the return to Australia will boost ratings after several years of the Welsh castle format.
