Opening Up About ADHD and Addiction

In a further post, Flanagan discussed her ADHD diagnosis and past unhealthy habits. She wrote: "Addictions are more common with people with ADHD. I don't have a problem with alcohol but I got unhealthy habits when I separated from the father of my kids." She elaborated: "To deal with the stress with the kids on my own and when I felt sad to numb it. Much healthier with alcohol now." Flanagan also expressed empathy for those struggling with addiction, stating: "Drug addiction is something close to my heart as someone very close to me has struggled and I know how it can just ruin your life and the heartbreak for those that love them. I don't judge people and I have empathy."
