Helen Flanagan has told fans that she could be arrested after a heated exchange with a parking attendant in Manchester, during which she received a parking ticket. The 36-year-old actress shared the incident in a social media video, explaining that a simple mistake led to the penalty.
Flanagan said she had paid for her parking but entered the wrong registration number on her courtesy car, typing the letter O instead of the number zero. She described confronting the warden as he tried to attach a ticket to her vehicle, saying: “I could see one of the traffic wardens trying to put a ticket on my car and I said, ‘no, I’ve paid for my ticket’. I am due my period so hell hath no fury if you get my wrath.”
Children's reaction
In the video, one of her children could be heard saying they did not want to go back to the car. The former Coronation Street star explained that her children “think I'm going to get arrested” for her reaction to the ticket. She admitted: “I might, actually. I was like, 'you are the most horrible man I've ever met. Karma for you!'”
Flanagan, a mother of three, shares her children with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair. The couple have two daughters, Matilda, 11, and Delilah, eight, as well as a son, Charlie, five.
Family updates
Charlie was recently hospitalised, with Scott Sinclair sharing a picture of the boy wearing an oxygen mask and giving a thumbs up to the camera. Sinclair captioned the image: “My little soldier.” He did not disclose the reason for the hospital visit.
Flanagan, who last appeared on the cobbles in 2018, ended her engagement to Sinclair in October 2022, more than 13 years after they first got together. She has since spoken openly about the “mum guilt” she feels while co-parenting and balancing her showbiz career, describing herself in a social media post as a “Tired Mum” who was “Overstimulated” and “Sick of the arguing.”
In a recent appearance on Lewis Nicholls' Life Stories podcast, Flanagan said she hoped her next relationship would be with the man who would become her husband, adding: “I think it will be the real thing. I will choose to protect it and I will keep that private. I will probably say who that person is, but I will want to protect it. I will want to keep it private.”
