Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's difficulties in Hollywood have been attributed to their reluctance to follow industry norms, according to royal expert Kinsey Schofield. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced a series of setbacks, including the cancellation of a lucrative Spotify deal and rumours that Netflix may not renew its £80m contract with the couple.
Speaking to TalkTV, Schofield suggested that the pair's desire to 'make their own rules' is frustrating for experienced professionals. This comes after Archewell Productions lost senior manager Bennet Levine, the fifth staff member to leave in a year. Schofield noted that Levine, a former Sony employee, brought discipline and a template for success, but that Harry and Meghan's nonconformity may have driven him away.
Schofield also criticised the couple's sense of entitlement, describing Harry as a 'nepo baby' who benefits from his royal background, and Meghan as being in her position 'because of who she married'. She argued that the ongoing loss of staff and contracts is a 'reflection of leadership', and that industry titans like Amazon's Jeff Bezos would question the couple's ability to deliver on projects.
