Harry Styles may be in trouble with fiancée Zoë Kravitz after a joke during his Madison Square Garden performance this weekend. The 32-year-old singer spotted a fan's sign about a crush who had just got engaged, and responded with a comedic reaction that drew a visibly unimpressed look from Kravitz in the audience.
A Joke That Backfired
Styles, performing in New York, noticed the sign and hung his head for several moments before joking: 'It sounds like you missed the boat on that one.' He described the situation as 'absolutely heartbreaking,' adding: 'Sometimes people get engaged. Maybe he'll come back around.'
The footage then cut to Zoë, 37, standing in the audience and making a show of looking unimpressed by the exchange. The moment did not go unnoticed by fans, many of whom joked that the One Direction star might find himself in the doghouse.
Fans React on Social Media
Reacting to footage shared on TikTok, fans shared their thoughts on what occurred between Harry, the fan, and Zoë, with some believing Harry didn't realise the fan was actually referring to him. 'Harry's sleeping on the couch tonight,' joked kerryleighmel, while Sav remarked that the man was 'gonna be in trouuuuuuble.' Giggled the appropriately named hehe: 'Ohhh she was mad omg,' while L boogie bk noted that she 'didn't like his answer at all!!'
Meanwhile, Harry's choice of outfit hadn't gone unnoticed either – wearing rat ears, a tail and a T-shirt which read 'I am a rat.' 'Suddenly, Zoë understands the text on his T-shirt,' commented Rene. Added Chandler fam: 'The look he gave to Zoe tho 🤣🤣🤣 he's hilarious.'
Engagement History
The news first broke back in April this year that Harry and The Batman star Zoë had got engaged. Speculation sparked when Zoë was pictured with a gigantic rock on her ring finger, days before Page Six appeared to confirm the news. A source told the outlet: 'He is completely smitten. He would jump off a cliff for her.' Meanwhile, Zoë was said to be 'on cloud nine.' 'No one in their circle is surprised,' the insider added.
A source also told Entertainment Tonight that the pair were 'crazy in love' and the Watermelon Sugar star saw her as 'someone he could settle down with.' This is Harry's first engagement, while Zoë has been married once before and engaged for 12 months prior to meeting Harry.
Previous Relationships and Wedding Plans
In 2018, she got engaged to American actor Karl Glusman, and tied the knot in June 2019. Their marriage was short-lived, with Zoë filing for divorce in 2020. She went on to reconnect with Channing Tatum, with whom she had originally worked on The LEGO Batman Movie. Apparently bonding on the set of her directorial debut, Blink Twice, the pair entered a romantic relationship soon after, and announced their engagement in October 2023. However, their relationship lasted barely a year after that, and they split the following October – although it's said they remain on good terms.
Following a brief romance with Austin Butler, Zoë became linked with Harry, and they were pictured walking arm-in-arm in Rome last summer. In September this year, an insider told People that they want an intimate ceremony, but are planning on 'big parties' to celebrate. 'Zoë and Harry want to have live music — that's a big part of the wedding for them,' the insider said. 'Other than that, they really care most about having their loved ones around and partying with those close to them.'
