Harry and Meghan End Cotswolds Home Search, Move to Smaller Estate Property
Harry and Meghan End Cotswolds Home Search

Prince Harry and Meghan have ended their search for a Cotswolds home just months after returning to the UK. The couple had reportedly been looking for a private property in the area since August, when they came back to Britain.

The Sussexes were understood to be living in the main residence of a wealthy friend's estate while the search was underway. They have now moved into a separate, smaller property on the same grounds, owned by the businessman. The exact location will not be revealed for privacy reasons.

Move Within the Estate

"They were living in the main house," a friend of the businessman told the Daily Mail. "They have now moved to a property on the estate."

Prince Harry reportedly became friends with the businessman through their joint support of military charities. The businessman is said to be happy that Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lilibet continue residing on his estate.

Search Criteria and Property Portfolio

Estate agents are likely to be disappointed after finding out that the Sussexes, with a reported budget of up to £10 million, have found their new home. Their previous criteria had prioritised privacy, reportedly asking for no public rights of way, ample land, and at least nine bedrooms.

They still own the £19.5 million mansion in Montecito, California, complete with a tennis court, cinema, gym and swimming pool.

Reasons for the UK Return

In an interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex gave several reasons for his move back to the UK, after cutting ties and stepping back from royal duties in 2020. He cited "opportunities" as one of the top factors, including being able to put his children through British schooling so they could also experience what it is like to grow up in Britain.

Harry also said being closer to his family was important, having expressed a desire to reconcile after a lengthy family rift. It was also reported that Meghan was keen to explore acting opportunities in the UK.

However, it was recently revealed that Meghan will instead travel to Australia for a TV role, as she becomes a judge for the Junior MasterChef competition.
