Harriet Cowan on Jeremy Clarkson's True Character Off Camera

Harriet Cowan has opened up about working with Jeremy Clarkson on the hit series Clarkson's Farm, revealing a moment she believes displayed his genuine character when the cameras were off.

Harriet Cowan's Experience on Clarkson's Farm

The former community nurse from Derbyshire temporarily replaced farm manager Kaleb Cooper during his speaking tour. She quickly won viewers over with her knowledge, sharp humour, and straightforward style. On the Fed By Farmers Podcast, she detailed her time working alongside Jeremy Clarkson.

Harriet explained that the opportunity arose when Charlie Ireland contacted local farmers to find someone to assist Jeremy while Kaleb was away. She noted that the production team seemed to be specifically seeking a woman for the role, and she accepted the position for 11 weeks.

Jeremy Clarkson's 'True Colours'

When discussing Jeremy's blunt manner, Harriet shared his authentic nature: 'He's marmite isn't he. I love that guy, I think he just doesn't care which is great. He was like a father figure to me when I was there, he was really lovely.'

Inclusivity in Farming

Harriet also spoke about how inclusivity for women in farming is 'better than it ever has been', crediting Clarkson's Farm for driving change. She said: 'It's a lot better than it ever has been. I think there's certain things certain places certain people that they aren't happy with it, and I think before like Clarkson's people would be like she don't have a clue.'

She added: 'I don't know if I'm the wrong person to comment on it because obviously people know what I can do off of the show. In one way that's really good and then in another way, there's like they've got a preconceived idea of what you're gonna be like.'

Jeremy Clarkson's Health Revelation

Clarkson's Farm returned to Prime Video this month, with Jeremy revealing in the final two episodes that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and would undergo surgery and treatment. The 66-year-old broadcaster shared the news with Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland, having known about his condition for some time after a biopsy.
