Harper Beckham, 5, Secures Trademark for Name

Victoria Beckham has trademarked her five-year-old daughter Harper's name with intellectual property authorities in Britain and Europe. The application, filed on 22 December, lists Victoria as the rights holder as parent and guardian.

The move allows the former Spice Girl to launch branded products including toys, clothing, and anti-wrinkle cream under the name 'Harper Beckham'. It also prevents others in the music, film, or TV industries from using the name professionally.

Harper is named after Harper Lee, author of Victoria's favourite book, To Kill A Mockingbird. The Beckham family business is estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of pounds, with endorsements spanning perfume and underwear.

David Beckham registered his name in 2000, Victoria in 2002, and the couple's other children—Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12—were also trademarked alongside Harper. Brooklyn is pursuing photography, Romeo has modelled for Burberry, and Cruz is working on a music career.

Trademark experts note that registering a name before a personality becomes famous makes it easier to prevent unauthorised use. Victoria's application covers the entire EU, described as a 'sensible move'.
