Gavin and Stacey Stars Mark 19th Anniversary with Podcast Reunion
Gavin and Stacey Cast Reunites for 19th Anniversary Podcast

Gavin and Stacey stars Mathew Horne and Joanna Page have hosted a 'family reunion' to mark the 19th anniversary of the iconic comedy show. They teamed up with Gavin's screen parents Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, who played Mick and Pam Shipman in the BBC series, on their new podcast a year and a half after the show's final episode aired.

Mathew, 47, said in a new TikTok for the Radio Times on Wednesday: 'It's some of the cast of Gavin & Stacey here. We've just been told this morning that it is 19 years to the day since the first episode of Gavin & Stacey was broadcast.' Reacting to the milestone, Alison said: 'It's unbelievable, I can't believe it.' Larry couldn't help but joke: 'All of us, we're 19 years younger.'

Mathew revealed the actors had been reminiscing about the wildly popular show before sharing an exciting announcement with fans – it was all recorded for a new podcast that they can listen to. He said: '[This was for our] podcast Table For Four, which is coming to your ears this Summer. It's been nice reminiscing around the table over some food about it.' Joanna added: 'It's been nice interviewing the in-laws and you interviewing your parents. We honestly haven't changed a bit.'

Fans of the much-loved comedy show were quick to flood the TikTok video with comments imploring the BBC to bring back the show. Addressing the show's writers James Corden and Ruth Jones specifically, one fan wrote: 'James and Ruth, we need more please bring back a new series.' Others added: 'Jokes over, bring it back now.'; 'Please do a reunion for the 20th!'

While Gavin and Stacey itself won't be returning, it was announced last autumn that James and Ruth signed a brand new seven-figure deal for a follow-up. James, 47, and Ruth, 59, have signed a deal that will take the new project away from the BBC and instead onto streaming platform AppleTV+.
