Gabby Logan has revealed her children sent a blunt two-word message on the family WhatsApp group after she discussed intimate details of her sex life with husband Kenny Logan in public.
The BBC Sport presenter, 53, hosts the Midpoint podcast with her husband, former rugby player Kenny Logan, 54, in which they discuss their lives and experiences of middle age. On a recent episode, the pair talked about their sex life, prompting a reaction from their 21-year-old fraternal twins, Lois and Reuben.
Family WhatsApp reaction
Speaking to The Times, Gabby said: “When Kenny and I did a Midpoint podcast episode about his prostate cancer, my kids found it toe-curling because we talked about our sex life. I’d get messages on our family WhatsApp, like, ‘Enough now’.”
This is not the first time Gabby has spoken candidly about her sex life with Kenny, whom she met in a bar in 1998 before marrying in 2001.
HRT and libido comments
Last year, Gabby discussed the impact of taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and how it had dramatically affected her libido. She said she worried sex would “become a duty” because of her lack of interest in it, but added that this changed within a couple of weeks of beginning HRT.
According to The Sun, she said: “My libido came back within about a week and our sex life was back on track — even to the extent of having daytime sex.”
Clarifying the 'romp' remarks
Gabby was later asked about those comments on the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast by Lisa Snowdon, who also asked about her sex life with Kenny.
Addressing her earlier comments, Gabby replied: “The word romp, I don’t think has ever come out of my mouth until that week when I was paraphrased as, ‘Now the kids have left home, we can have daily romps’.
“I think what I’d said was, someone had said something about sex life with midlife women and things, and I was saying at least when the kids go home, you’re not confined to evening sex. So in theory, you could have sex during the day.”
Gabby also explained why she may have made those comments: “I was totally oblivious to it until about 6pm because I was doing loads of podcasts and I’m wandering around and sometimes you know, ‘People have looked at me that day having read that headline’, and they’re probably thinking, ‘She better get home, it’s time for a romp’.”
