Gabby Logan: daughter horrified by university confession

BBC Sport presenter Gabby Logan has revealed that her daughter was appalled upon discovering what she had included in her autobiography. The 53-year-old has fraternal twins — 21-year-old Lois and Reuben — with her husband, former professional rugby player Kenny Logan, 54.

In recent weeks, Gabby has disclosed that her children have been taken aback by the personal revelations both she and Kenny have shared publicly, including aspects of their intimate relationship. She has also mentioned that her daughter was left stunned after reading her autobiography and learning what Gabby had done during her university years.

Daughter's reaction to the book

Speaking to the Times, Gabby revealed that her daughter was displeased to learn she had been unfaithful to her boyfriend at university. She explained: "My daughter was very upset with me when she read in my book that I cheated on my boyfriend at university. She was horrified."

Despite this, Gabby believed it was crucial for her daughter to know this about her, as it provided Lois with greater insight into her mother's character. She added: "A lot has not gone the way I would have wanted it to in my life, and it was good for her to understand that."

Other family revelations

This marks not the first occasion Gabby has mentioned her children being astonished to learn intimate details about their parents, reports the Daily Star.

In a separate interview with the Times, Gabby disclosed her children had sent her a two-word message after she and Kenny — whom she married in 2001 having met in 1998 — discussed their intimate life on the Midpoint podcast they co-host. She revealed to the publication: "When Kenny and I did a Midpoint podcast episode about his prostate cancer, my kids found it toe-curling because we talked about our sex life. I'd get messages on our family WhatsApp, like, 'Enough now'."

Relocation idea rejected

Gabby also disclosed how her family reacted when she floated the idea of relocating to France for twelve months.

Speaking on the Second Act with Ateh Jewel podcast, she recalled: "I remember coming down for breakfast once when the kids were about 10 and I said, 'Guys, I've had this really crazy idea but I think it could be really good. Let's go live in France for a year.'"

She continued: "[I told them] 'the kids can learn French and I'll commute to work.' And honestly, you'd have thought that I had suggested we all join a commune in Ukraine or something."

Ultimately, the family remained in the UK rather than making the move across the Channel.
