A British fitness influencer has been sharing her excitement after spotting numerous celebrities at the FIFA World Cup 2026, but not everyone is impressed by the star-studded presence at the tournament.
Celebrity Sightings Abound
The World Cup 2026, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, has attracted a host of Hollywood A-listers, influencers, and music stars. Holly Brooks, a fitness influencer based in Los Angeles, took to Instagram to reveal the high-profile celebrities she encountered during a match.
Among the notable faces was Tom Cruise, who was seen signing flags for supporters inside the stadium. Holly also spotted actress Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her roles in The Queen's Gambit and Split, cooling off with a drink while watching the action. David and Victoria Beckham were also in the crowd, with Beckham's footballing career making his presence unsurprising.
Katy Perry performed for the crowd, while girl group KATSEYE also attended the match. Holly captioned her post: "Celeb sporting at the World Cup. Such a dream come true to attend."
Other Famous Faces
Additional celebrities highlighted in Holly's video included The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley, David Beckham's son Romeo, and acclaimed actor Denzel Washington. Reports also noted Ryan Reynolds supporting Canada against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto, Salma Hayek acting as a Global Ambassador at the opening match in Mexico City, and Sofia Vergara and Owen Wilson enjoying pitch-side views at Los Angeles Stadium.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were seen among spectators at the USA opener, while Halle Berry and Jamie Foxx shared smiles from a hospitality suite. Jay-Z was spotted sipping champagne in a private box and making a surprise on-field appearance during the Ivory Coast vs. Ecuador match in Philadelphia.
Fan Criticism
Despite the excitement, some fans expressed discontent. One disgruntled fan vented online: "That's a testament to all that is all wrong with this world cup. Actual fans are priced out so people who already have everything can show up at what is just another event for them." Another echoed: "They all show up, this is why it was such a bad idea USA hosting the World Cup as the focus goes on them and not on the team USA mens team who are a dark horse in this tournament."
