Corrie fans spot missing detail in Jodie Ramsey exit plot

Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a 'missing' part in what is being teased as Jodie Ramsey's 'exit' plot as the character appears to have gone AWOL after being accidentally shot by her sister, Shona Platt.

Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, thought they might have seen the back of the character last week when she was revealed as the casualty in a dramatic showdown between the two siblings.

Jodie's scheme and the shooting

Having previously attempted to get in between Shona and her husband, David Platt, last week, Corrie fans saw the dramatic moment when Jodie proved she would stop at nothing to steal her sister's life.

She was going all out to seduce David, and appeared gleeful that she'd finally got Shona out of the picture. However, her bubble burst when she discovered he was playing along with Jodie's seduction while hiding his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them.

As David and Shona confronted Jodie in No.8 Coronation Street, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box. Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she'd previously convinced them the weapon she had was fake.

At her wits' end, Shona ended up tackling the weapon off of her sister, and in a scuffle between the pair, she ended up pulling the trigger, resulting in a gunshot ringing out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa.

Aftermath and blackmail threats

In the aftermath of the incident, a panic-stricken Shona tried to help Jodie, while David phoned the emergency services. When asked if the patient was hurt, David lied and said that they'd heard the gunshot and ran in to find Jodie alone, before later revealing he had disposed of the firearm.

Later, having made it through surgery, Jodie realised her family hadn't told the police about the gun and was quick to go back to her old manipulative ways, planning to blackmail David and Shona over what happened.

However, in Sunday's (October 11) episode of Corrie, after David and Shona were asked more questions by DS Lisa Connor-Swain, they stuck to their false story, despite the blackmail threats from Jodie. While David was keen to see the back of his sister-in-law, Shona was guilt-ridden and decided she still wanted her younger sister to stay in her life and stay at No.8.

Fans question Doug's absence

However, when Shona headed back to the hospital to speak to Jodie, she was gone, and it was a nurse who let her know that the patient had discharged herself. But it seems there is one thing bothering Corrie fans, and that's why no one seems to be speaking to Jodie and Shona's father, Doug Ramsey, after Jodie used him and his mental health diagnosis in her sick games.

I liked Doug." @SmudgedChaos suggested: "Or has Jodie gone to finish what she started?" @kylieskaty added: "Sod jodie, shona you should go and see how doug is #Corrie."
