Corrie fans baffled by Jodie Ramsey move after being shot

Coronation Street fans have been left baffled following Jodie Ramsey's latest move, which comes days after she was shot by her sister, Shona Platt, in a dramatic sibling showdown.

Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, thought they may have seen the back of the manipulative character last week when she was accidentally shot by her older sister during a confrontation over her sinister plan to erase Shona from her own life.

Jodie's seduction plan backfires

Having previously attempted to get in between Shona and her husband, David Platt, last week, Corrie fans saw the dramatic moment when Jodie proved she would stop at nothing to steal her sister's life as she went all out to seduce David, thinking she'd finally got Shona out of the picture.

While Jodie was led to believe that David was interested, and that she'd finally got what she wanted, Jodie was crestfallen when she discovered he was playing along with Jodie's seduction while hiding his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them.

The shooting and its aftermath

As David and Shona confronted Jodie in No.8 Coronation Street, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box. Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she'd previously convinced them the weapon she had was fake.

Tackling her sister head-on, a scuffle broke out, and Shona ended up pulling the trigger, and a gunshot rang out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa. A distressed Shona then attempted to help Jodie as she bled out.

In Friday's (October 9) follow-up episode of Corrie, a panic-stricken Shona tried to help Jodie, while David phoned the emergency services. When asked if the patient was hurt, David lied and said that they'd heard the gunshot and ran in to find Jodie alone, before later revealing he had disposed of the firearm.

Fans react to Jodie's disappearance

Realising her family hadn't told the police about the gun, having made it through surgery, Jodie came round and was quickly back to her own tricks, planning to blackmail David and Shona over what happened.

As Sunday's (October 11) episode aired, David and Shona were seen being asked to attend the station for questioning by DS Lisa Connor-Swain. They stuck to their false story, despite the blackmail threats from Jodie, and while David was keen to see the back of his sister-in-law, Shona was guilt-ridden and decided she still wanted her younger sister to stay in her life and stay at No.8.

However, when Shona headed back to the hospital to speak to Jodie, she was gone, and a nurse told her that the patient had discharged herself. And it was that particular moment which got Corrie fans speaking on social media, with many confused as to how she can fend for herself after facing the physical trauma she has.

@DrSwarla2025 said: "How ridiculous that Jodie got shot in the stomach needed emergency surgery and then discharges herself 2 days later no way would she be able to walk out of the hospital let alone look after herself. #corrie." @ThomasR14336083 commented: "Jodie must be invincible. She was shot close range less than twenty four hours previous & already she's discharged. Miracle of soap hospitals. #Corrie."

@ShipwreckedLoz7 replied: "David won’t take her out. Kit won’t take her out. Now it seems even a bullet won’t take her out. Unbelievable." @HasanHussain777 added: "Jodie is literally like Ghostface...gets shot, survives and then is gone by the time someone comes back.... #Corrie."
