Coleen Nolan rules out marriage to new partner

Coleen Nolan has addressed the possibility of marrying her new partner, Ryan Brockbank, saying she does not want anything to overshadow her daughter's wedding next year. The Loose Women star went public with the romance on Instagram in August after dating privately for several months.

Since then, the couple have got matching tattoos, and Nolan has revealed they have also discussed the prospect of marriage.

Marriage ruled out for now

During an appearance on the At Home With Vanessa podcast, host Vanessa Feltz asked whether marriage could be on the cards for the couple. The 61-year-old replied: "No I've told him... not that we've talked about marriage," she laughed: "No, because my daughter is getting married next year and I don't want anything to overshadow that anyway."

"Even if he did [propose], I'd be like...," she continued before trailing off. "But he wouldn't because I've said to him, 'I don't want anything to overshadow, it's all about her'."

Previous marriages and new romance

Nolan went on to reveal how she had initially ruled out getting married again following her divorces from Shane Richie and Ray Fensome. She continued: "I said if I meet someone, I don't want to get married again. I never want to get married again, what's the point? Bla Bla bla and then you meet someone and you think oh maybe and because the thing is I loved being married.

"I loved it but the problem is when it goes wrong it's awful so it's that bit, but then you meet someone and you think well maybe this is the one that won't go wrong."

Despite the couple's 14-year age gap, the Loose Women star admitted she was initially apprehensive about embarking on the relationship. Ryan came into her life through Instagram, following her appearance on Celebs Go Dating, where she was matched with non-celebrity singletons but failed to find a romantic connection.

Age gap and family reaction

Speaking about their age gap, Nolan admitted she was initially apprehensive but has since realised that they are on the same wavelength mentally. "He's just so calm and he's very reassuring and he's quite happy to just stay in the... I say in the background, I'm putting him right out there," he laughed. "And he's self sufficient which I love."

Nolan also said she loved how well he co-parents with his ex partner, with whom he has a daughter. While discussing her relationship on Loose Women, the mother-of-three revealed the matching tattoos she had got with Ryan.

Live on the show, she showed off the three-word inking on her right arm to her Loose Women co-stars, which says UNTIL THE END. In addition to the phrase, she also has an "R" followed by a love heart inked on her chest to signify his first initial.

On the reaction from her family, she said: "My kids when I went home went 'what is going on?' Do you know, I'm in my 60s now, there's more life behind me than in front and I'm going to do exactly [what I want]. I've spent my whole life working, bringing up kids like most people. All my kids are parents themselves and moving on. I'm going to live my life."
