George Clooney's Lake Como Villa Value Soars Tenfold Amid Heritage Dispute

George and Amal Clooney's Lake Como villa, which the Hollywood star seldom visits, has increased in value tenfold since its purchase in 2002, now estimated at over $100 million. The property, named Villa Oleandra in Laglio, was originally bought for $10 million. The actor expanded the estate by acquiring the adjacent property, creating a 25-room complex with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a garage for his vintage motorbikes.

According to Investropa, property prices in Lake Como rose by 9.27% year-over-year as of May 2025, further boosting the villa's worth. Despite media reports in 2023 suggesting the couple had listed the villa for sale, Clooney denied the claims, stating he first heard of it from Page Six and that it was not true.

The villa holds sentimental value as the place where Clooney met his wife, Amal, during a dinner party in 2013. The couple married in Venice in 2017 and now have twins, Ella and Alexander. However, they spend most of their time in Provence, France, where they purchased a chateau in 2021 for $8.3 million.

In France, Clooney has engaged with local initiatives, including a farm-to-table project for schools. Mayor Didier Brémond confirmed to Paris Match that Clooney offered financial support, similar to his donation of €20,000 for flood relief in Le Val in 2021.
