Fans of Claudia Winkleman have been left stunned by how different she appears in a resurfaced clip from 2016, with some likening her to another celebrity. The 54-year-old presenter, known for her signature fringe, deep orange fake tan, and Highland Gothic fashion sense on The Traitors, looked like a totally different person in the footage.
In the recently resurfaced video, Claudia appeared on 8 Out Of 10 Cats without her well-known haircut, smoky eyeliner, and tan. Viewers said they didn't even notice her at first, with some comparing her to Anne Hathaway when she had different hair and paler skin.
Heating Confession on Air
During the 2016 appearance, Claudia admitted on air that she didn't have heating in her house. However, it wasn't that she lacked it, but that she couldn't figure out how to make it work, as she didn't know which buttons did what. Sean Lock called her out for it, and she laughed, grabbing onto his arm and saying, "How do you know that?!"
Fans React to the Footage
In the comments, people couldn't believe it was the same woman. One person said: "When a fringe didn't rule her career," while another wrote: "Love Claudia, she's so special. I wish her hands were the same colour as her face, though what's going on there?"
A third commented: "I love Claudia, she'd be an absolute riot to hang out with." A fourth noticed: "OMG! Is that Claudia? A lot less orange back then." Another joked: "Oh my gosh, she's got eyebrows," referring to how her thick fringe usually hides them.
Commitment to Her Look
Claudia has openly joked that she's "addicted" to fake tan, so she won't be dropping it as part of her signature look any time soon. During filming for The Traitors, when she ran out of her regular tan while stationed at the remote castle, she famously resorted to using gravy granules on her face. She certainly wasn't doing that when 8 Out Of 10 Cats aired, as her skin was porcelain.
Recently, Claudia crowned comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Sebastian "Bash" Croft as the winners of this year's Celebrity Traitors, with the £83,000 prize pot going to refugee charities, including one that helps LGBTQIA+ people who are displaced.
