Clarkson's Farm: Richard Ham's Fate Revealed

In the latest episodes of Clarkson's Farm season five on Prime Video, Jeremy Clarkson has finally revealed the fate of fan-favorite piglet Richard Ham. The pig, named after Clarkson's friend and former Top Gear co-star Richard Hammond, has been a beloved figure on the show since season four.

A Heartbreaking Decision

Earlier in the season, Clarkson and his partner Lisa Hogan faced the difficult decision to send their pigs away due to financial viability issues. The pigs were not producing enough meat to justify their keep, leading to their departure from Diddly Squat Farm. However, one pig remained a point of contention: Richard Ham.

In episode five, viewers saw Clarkson and Hogan still mourning the loss of their pigs. But Clarkson had a surprise in store as he showed fans that Richard Ham was still on the farm. While clearing the old pig area, Clarkson said, "It's been years and years and years and every time you come down here, they all come running along to see you, and now look." He then pointed to the pig, exclaiming, "Mind you, that being said, it's not completely empty though, is it? Because look who's here. Ladies and gentlemen, Richard Ham."

Richard Ham's New Life

Clarkson revealed that Richard Ham had grown significantly since last seen. "Look how he has grown! He has become a mighty pig, a huge pig," he enthused. Explaining the pig's continued presence, Clarkson said, "We've kept him. We had to. The problem we've got though, is he can't be a fluffer any more because there's no more pigs to fluff. We can't eat him, because we just can't, and we can't breed from him because there's something genetically wrong with him. So we have just got him."

To ensure Richard Ham wasn't lonely, the Diddly Squat team acquired another male pig named James Boar, a playful nod to the third member of The Grand Tour trio, James May. Clarkson explained that farmers are advised not to keep pigs alone, so having a companion was essential.

Fan Reaction

Richard Ham quickly became a fan favorite in season four, with viewers charmed by his adorable appearance. The news that he has been spared from slaughter and continues to live a happy life on the farm has delighted fans. Clarkson's emotional attachment to the pig was evident as he spoke about the decision to keep him.

Clarkson's Farm season 5 continues to air on Prime Video, with new episodes bringing more challenges and heartwarming moments from the Diddly Squat team.
