Ruben Altidore, 36, has been charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and a probation violation after allegedly attacking his sister with a machete in Margate, Florida, on August 3. The attack left the victim with a four-inch slash on her right hand and nearly severed fingers.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, and Altidore was arrested later that day. He appeared in court on Tuesday, August 4. According to an arrest report cited by WPLG, Altidore allegedly shouted at his sister during the attack, asking why she was not dead yet.

The victim fled her home and sought help from a neighbor, Luis Pereria, who recalled: "She ran to the middle of the street and then ran to my front door where she was asking for help." Doorbell camera footage reportedly shows her collapsing after ringing the doorbell.
