Chrissy Metz's New York Media Day and Fitness Insights
Chrissy Metz, the 45-year-old former star of This Is Us, had a busy schedule in New York City on Tuesday, making two separate appearances on Fox 5. The actress, who famously lost 100 pounds in 2025, showcased her style and shared updates on her health journey during the media day.
Stylish Appearances on Fox 5
For her segment on Good Day New York, Metz wore a figure-hugging, ribbed olive green dress with an off-the-shoulder design. She paired the elegant outfit with black leather ankle booties, creating a sophisticated look. Her glossy, shoulder-length brunette hair was parted down the middle and styled in soft, face-framing waves, complemented by a subtle makeup palette with pink-hued highlights that accentuated her features. The television star also flaunted a peach-toned manicure, adding a touch of color to her ensemble.
Later in the day, Metz filmed another segment for Good Night New York, maintaining her polished appearance. She was pictured with journalist Rosanna Scotto, highlighting her active role in the media circuit.
Fitness Journey and Workout Secrets
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in April 2025, Metz shared an update on her health journey, revealing that consistent weight lifting is her workout secret. She explained, "I have always enjoyed strength training. I've always enjoyed lifting weights," noting her preference for it over cardio. Metz humorously added, "I don't want to run unless I'm being chased," while promoting her second children's book, titled When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings.
Her trainer, who remains anonymous, has also undergone a weight loss journey, which Metz says makes their collaboration enjoyable. She emphasized, "We have things in common where it's not just like, 'Why are you doing this?' Like, I don't want to be yelled at. I want to be lovingly supported in whatever it is that I'm doing." Beyond one-on-one sessions, Metz is motivated by the long-term benefits of fitness for aging, aiming to live a healthy life.
Weight Loss and Dietary Approach
Metz shed 100 pounds in 2025 by adhering to a structured plan. She followed a 2,000-calorie diet and incorporated daily 20-minute walks into her routine. This disciplined approach contributed significantly to her transformation, as seen in comparisons to her 2019 appearance.
Views on Weight Loss Drugs
Later in the year, Metz addressed her "very complicated feelings" surrounding weight loss drugs, particularly amid Hollywood's Ozempic craze. While clearing up misconceptions about her health journey, she reflected on the use of GLP-1 medications. Metz stated, "If you’re diabetic and need to lower your A1C, these are things that are important to take care of. But if you already have a restrictive eating disorder and take something that minimizes your appetite, it can become a very slippery slope."
She added that if she ever decides to use a GLP-1 medication, she would not disclose it publicly. Metz clarified, "I never said I was the poster child for body positivity. I just want to do what I can do to live the longest, healthiest life." Reflecting on her father's tragic death from sepsis after gastric bypass surgery, the Florida native expressed her determination to avoid a similar fate, underscoring her commitment to health and wellness.
