Cheryl Tweedy has been approached by BBC bosses to take part in the next series of Celebrity Traitors, according to reports. The Girls Aloud star, 42, is being lined up for a starring role in the hit reality show as producers seek to maintain record viewing figures.
However, Cheryl's potential participation may be complicated by the requirement to film in Scotland for several weeks, which would take her away from her son Bear. Cheryl shares her seven-year-old son with the late Liam Payne, who died in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
A source told The Sun: "Cheryl is taking baby steps about returning to the limelight. Bosses know she would be a huge draw. They think she would be brilliant at playing the game, especially as she is so straight-talking." The insider added that being away from her son could be a reason she turns it down.
If Cheryl agrees, she must adhere to strict rules, including a ban on mobile phones and no access to the time. Celebrities spend all day filming at Ardross Castle but not in the evenings. Other names reportedly in the mix include Gavin and Stacey creator Ruth Jones and former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer.
This is not the first time Cheryl has been approached for a TV comeback. In July last year, she was reportedly lined up to appear on The Voice as a guest mentor. Cheryl last appeared on TV five years ago, on The Greatest Dancer. A source said: "A lot has happened in Cheryl's personal life since she was last working on a talent show, so she's taking baby steps to put herself back out there."
