Charlotte Crosby Quits Paramount Show for ITV Ambitions After BBC Celebrity Traitors Ban
Charlotte Crosby Quits Show for ITV After BBC Traitors Ban

In a significant career shift, television personality Charlotte Crosby has confirmed she is stepping away from her long-running self-titled reality series. The 35-year-old star, who first found fame on MTV's Geordie Shore in 2011, is now setting her sights on securing prominent roles with ITV and exploring other major broadcast opportunities.

A Pivot in Programming

Crosby's decision comes shortly after she publicly disclosed a little-known BBC policy that has prevented her, and numerous other reality television figures, from participating in the hit show Celebrity Traitors. She stated unequivocally that a 'no reality stars' rule is actively enforced for the programme, a restriction she claims other major shows have historically employed before eventually relaxing their criteria.

End of an Era with Paramount

The star's most recent venture, Geordie Stories: Charlotte Mam of Two, which premiered on a streaming service in November 2025, will not be returning after just four episodes. This series followed her life with fiancé Jake Ankers and their two young daughters, Alba Jean and Pixi Cecilia. It was preceded earlier in 2025 by Geordie Stories: Charlotte's New Baby, which documented her second pregnancy.

In comments to The Sun, Crosby explained her rationale for the change. 'I won’t be continuing doing that one, not that exact show,' she said, referring to her Paramount series. 'Whether or not I have another show about my life or following my wedding, that will happen at some point... but right now that show with Paramount is parked up.'

She elaborated on her new direction, emphasising a desire for broader projects. 'I think I really want to focus on doing some big shows this year and doing stuff on other channels. I’d love to be on ITV a bit more and really dip my foot into some other opportunities.' Crosby noted that filming her previous series consumed over seven months of her year, leaving little room for other ventures. 'I’ve got loads of ideas myself... I think I just need to make some room for some new and exciting opportunities.' The Daily Mail has contacted Paramount for comment regarding the show's conclusion.

A Storied Television Career

Charlotte Crosby boasts an extensive portfolio in reality television. Her initial and most notable stint was on Geordie Shore from 2011 to 2016, with a return between 2022 and 2024 before a dramatic exit following a feud with co-star Marnie Simpson. She has firmly stated she will not return to the MTV show.

Her other credits are vast, including Celebrity Big Brother, Ex on the Beach, Celebs Go Dating, Just Tattoo of Us, Celebrity Coach Trip, Geordie Shore OGs, Celebrity Masterchef, and Geordie React. She is currently promoting a new DIY YouTube series, Celebs with Tools, featuring Jake Quickenden and Ollie Locke.

The Celebrity Traitors Conundrum

The revelation about the BBC's casting rule sheds light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of major entertainment shows. Crosby expressed her keen interest in joining Celebrity Traitors, the star-studded spin-off of the hugely popular deception game, which aired its first series in late 2024 with comedian Alan Carr emerging victorious.

'I would love to do that, but you do know they’ve got a no reality rule. That is a genuine fact,' Crosby asserted. 'My agent is on the line and he will confirm. They take no reality stars. A lot of shows have this rule.' She drew a parallel to I'm A Celebrity..., which she said previously had a similar policy before broadening its contestant pool. 'So they’ll have this rule for maybe three or four series and then they might have to break the mould a bit. As soon as they do, I will be there,' she added.

The first series of Celebrity Traitors featured a roster of established names from entertainment, sports, and journalism, including Sir Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, and Tom Daley, all competing under host Claudia Winkleman. Winner Alan Carr humorously recounted accidentally revealing his victory to a cameraman just hours after filming ended, forcing him to hastily claim he was joking.

Speculation for the Next Series

With a second series confirmed, speculation is intensifying regarding which celebrities will enter the iconic Scottish castle. Recent reports suggest This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is in talks with BBC producers, who reportedly believe she could replicate the comedic success of Alan Carr. Another name strongly linked to the show is comedian and actor Steve Pemberton, a known fan of the format. Other rumoured potential contestants include singer Cheryl and actor Danny Dyer.

Crosby's career move marks a pivotal moment as she transitions from the structured narrative of a personal reality series to chasing more varied and potentially high-profile projects on mainstream channels like ITV, all while navigating the unspoken rules that govern access to prime-time entertainment slots.
