Charli XCX Threatens Peppa Pig in Bizarre Feud Over Clairo

In a bizarre celebrity feud that has taken the internet by storm, Charli XCX has threatened to 'f**k up' Peppa Pig after the children's TV icon made a shady comment about singer Clairo during a Pitchfork interview.

Peppa Pig's Shady Interview

The four-year-old animated character, known for her love of muddy puddles and her family, channeled her inner Mariah Carey while playing Pitchfork's Over/Under game. During the segment, Peppa rated various musicians, expressing admiration for PinkPantheress and The Beatles. However, when asked about rising star Clairo, 27, she simply declared, 'I don't know her,' accompanied by a side-eye to the camera.

The comment was widely seen as a nod to Mariah Carey's infamous 2002 interview where she claimed not to know Jennifer Lopez. Peppa's seemingly dismissive remark did not sit well with Charli XCX, 33, who quickly sprang to her friend's defense.

Charli XCX's Threat

According to screenshots shared on social media, Charli texted Clairo, whose real name is Claire Elizabeth Cottrill, saying, 'let's f**k her up,' in reference to Peppa Pig. The message was posted alongside a viral post about the interview shade. Clairo, known for her hit 'Sofia,' then shared Charli's message with her followers, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.

Many fans rallied around Clairo, with some posting pictures of frying bacon—a playful nod to Peppa's love of the food. One fan account commented, 'Peppa Pig should focus on promoting her music career rather than coming for Clairo,' while highlighting the pair's Spotify streaming numbers. PinkPantheress, who Peppa had praised in the interview, also weighed in, writing: 'ain't shit sweet until you put respect on clairo.'

Clairo's Response

Fans joked that Clairo needed to quickly promote something while the internet's attention was on her. She replied that she 'didn't have anything yet.' Her last album, Charm, was released in 2024, and she wrapped up the tour just last year, concluding in Manchester on March 20, 2025. The album was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammys but lost to St. Vincent's All Born Screaming.

Clairo later attempted to downplay the drama, replying to posts before writing on X: 'ok that's enoughhhhh lolllllllllll.'

Charli XCX's New Album

Meanwhile, Charli has not publicly commented on the feud—or 'bacon,' as fans have dubbed it—and is instead focusing on promoting her upcoming album. She recently dropped the track list for Music, Fashion, Film, which is set for release on July 24. While there is no obvious Peppa shade in the titles, some fans speculate that track five, 'I'm afraid,' could be a subtle nod to the children's TV titan.

Metro has reached out to representatives for Clairo, Charli, and Peppa Pig for comment.
