Former Love Island contestant Charleen Murphy has revealed her predictions for the only two couples she believes will 'go the distance' after being unexpectedly dumped from the villa. The 27-year-old Casa Amor star, who entered the main villa alongside Mara Pirez, was sent home after her romance with Kavan Murphy collapsed when he returned to his ex Jasmine Muller.
Charleen's Surprise Dumping
ITV viewers were shocked when Charleen and Mara were given the boot in a surprise recoupling. The Casa Amor stunners had been promoted to the main villa after Charleen struck up a romance with Kavan and Mara connected with Simba Kudyiwa. However, the lads soon regretted ditching their original partners, leading to the influencers' exit when Kavan opted to recouple with Jasmine and Simba returned to Angelista Gunda.
Endgame Predictions
Following her exit, Charleen spilled tantalising villa secrets, predicting two couples will go the distance. Speaking to ITV, she disclosed: 'I think Lorenzo and Julia are endgame. I love them together. I feel like Lorenzo has really come into his own with her.' Fan favourite Lorenzo had flitted between several women but appears to have found his ideal match in bombshell Julia Majchrzak.
Charleen also confirmed that popular pair Ellie Chadwick and Finley Maddock are the real deal. 'They're both so genuine and approachable,' she elaborated. 'I was basically third wheeling them half the time like a little handbag. They just belong together and I'd love to see both of those couples go the whole distance.'
No Mention of Fan Favourites
Surprisingly, Charleen made no mention of Sean Fitzgerald and Lola Deal, who have been regarded as favourites from the programme's outset. They became the first pair to make things official and profess their love, yet viewers remain somewhat sceptical about their romantic tale.
No Regrets
Despite leaving without finding love, Charleen feels grateful she pursued her connection with Kavan. Discussing their fleeting romance, she revealed: 'I haven't liked someone in a long time, so it was nice to be able to like somebody again and feel that spark.' She continued: 'It was just one of those instant feelings when you look at someone and it's there. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt that, so it was really special for me.'
'Even though it didn't work out, I'd rather have tried and expressed my feelings than leave wondering. I was honest with how I felt and I'm glad I was. I don't have any regrets. Maybe it didn't end how I wanted it to, but that's life.'
Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
