Brooklyn Beckham's Instagram Post Sparks Follower Surge Amid Family Feud

Brooklyn Beckham's recent Instagram post addressing long-standing rumours of a family rift has led to a significant increase in his social media visibility, according to data from PR consultancy Cupid PR. The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham gained nearly one million followers in the 30 days following his 19 January statement, reversing a trend of declining follower numbers earlier in the month.

Cupid PR founder Sophie Rhone noted that the post, which included six pages of claims about the Beckham family, caused a spike in interest. Brooklyn's account saw its largest single-day gains between 19 and 21 January, with increases of 168,218, 461,315 and 225,055 followers respectively. Rhone commented that such moments 'materially change an individual's reach' and 'reshape perceived influence almost instantly'.

In his statement, Brooklyn claimed his parents had 'controlled' him and prioritised 'Brand Beckham' over his wellbeing. He alleged that his mother Victoria had cancelled making his wife Nicola Peltz's wedding dress at the last minute and that his parents had tried to 'ruin' his relationship. Brooklyn also stated he does 'not want to reconcile' with his family, saying he is 'standing up for myself for the first time in my life'.

Brooklyn, who lives in Beverly Hills with Nicola and runs a hot sauce brand, also released a digital cooking series in 2021. The post has drawn widespread media attention, with the Beckham family yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
