Brooklyn Beckham has deleted a social media picture of his wife, Nicola Peltz, and close friend Damian Hurley after being mocked by fans online. The 27-year-old shared the image over the Halloween weekend as the group partied in Los Angeles.
In the photo, actress Nicola, 31, dressed as Catwoman, while Damian, 24, wore an all-black leather look with his jacket unzipped to his waist and a whip wrapped around him. Brooklyn stood beside them in a Superman costume as Damian wrapped his arm around Nicola.
Fans mock the trio's pose
Hours after the post went live, it was swiftly deleted following a flood of critical comments. One social media user wrote: "This photo is awkward as f**k." A second added: "That girl is leaning more towards the other guy than to her own husband." Another joked: "I thought Superman was third-wheeling."
Other users pointed out the similarity between Nicola and Damian's outfits, with one commenting: "Not only has she dressed up looking like she has coordinated with the other guy, but in the photo she's cuddling the other guy and not her husband."
Damian keeps his post live
While Brooklyn removed his post, Damian has kept his version up for his 240,000 followers and has received similar comments. Despite the backlash, Brooklyn was also seen getting hands-on with his wife in other shots from the night, including one where he placed his hand on her as she wrapped her leg around him.
Nicola was also accused of copying her estranged mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, who famously wore a black PVC catsuit in the 1996 music video for the Spice Girls hit "Say You'll Be There." One Instagram user commented "Wannabe @victoriabeckham" alongside three laughing-face emojis, while another posted a GIF of Victoria rolling her eyes.
Previous baffling posts
The image is not the first time the trio have confused followers. Brooklyn and Nicola recently recreated a childhood photograph featuring Damian, taken after downtime following Sir Elton John's birthday celebrations. In the updated shot, Nicola took on the role of a blonde woman who appeared in the original image, identified as Esme Bertelsen, daughter of TV star Susannah Constantine. "Obsessed," Esme commented underneath the picture.
Brooklyn and Nicola have been estranged from his family in recent years after a falling out. Earlier this year, Brooklyn said on social media that he did "not want to reconcile" with his family and instructed them to contact him via his lawyers and to refrain from tagging him in social media posts.
