Olivia Attwood has been cautioned that her decision to publicly accuse Bradley Dack of “lying and cheating” could backfire, following revelations that their televised wedding was not legally binding. The former Love Island star, 34, ended her marriage to footballer Bradley Dack, 32, earlier this year, and broke her silence by alleging multiple instances of infidelity during their decade-long relationship.
Days before her bombshell statement, it emerged that the couple’s wedding, documented in the ITVX reality show Olivia Marries Her Match, was not legally binding. Reports claim that despite plans to sign legal documents at a Cheshire registry office, no official marriage record exists. Sources suggest Olivia chose not to make the marriage legal due to “mistruths,” leaving ITV bosses “blindsided” by the news.
PR expert Dermot McNamara told The Mirror that Olivia likely hoped speculation would fade, but fans feel misled after buying into the fairy tale. He noted that questions about Brad’s alleged infidelities and Olivia’s closeness with Pete Wicks prompted her to get ahead of the narrative. McNamara warned that while some may see her as open and in control, others may view the statement as raising more questions, calling it a “double-edged sword.”
He advised against further reactive posts, saying, “Once you’ve done that, there’s no going back.” McNamara believes Olivia’s future with ITV is safe but that the network will seek clarity over the wedding’s legality, given their investment in her as a key talent with over 200 million streams on ITVX.
