Bodybuilding gran wows fans in bikini with five-word statement

Lesley Maxwell, the super-fit gran known for feeling "stronger than ever" in her 60s, has delighted fans again by sharing a beach photo in a navy blue bikini, showcasing her six-pack abs and toned arms. The Melbourne-based personal trainer posted the image to her 144,000 Instagram followers during Australia's winter sun, captioning it: "Of course I took a little trip to the beach today. I think I'll always love wearing bikinis." She ended with a cheeky five-word remark: "I hope you don't mind."

Fans React to the Beach Snap

In the photo, Lesley wears minimal makeup and lets her curly locks flow by her shoulders, with her hard-rock abs and toned arms on full display. Fans quickly flooded the comments section with praise. One wrote: "Not at all, you look amazing and so inspiring at the beach." Another commented: "You looks so amazing... I love you, dear Lesley." A third added: "Are you kidding? We want to see you wearing bikinis literally even everyday if it's possible."

From 'Frail' to Bodybuilding Champion

Lesley's fitness journey began after a former partner called her "frail," followed by a hospitalisation for pneumonia that served as a wake-up call. She discovered weight training in her late 40s and within a year won her first fitness competition at age 49. Since then, the Australian has scooped over 30 bodybuilding titles, including earning her pro card at the WNBF/INBF World Championships in New York in 2019, where she took first place, and winning the ICN Open Classics in 2019.

Training and Coaching Business

Now in her 60s, Lesley continues to train around 4-5 times a week, mainly choosing heavy weightlifting over traditional cardio. Her nutrition focuses on clean, dense eating, prioritising high protein and healthy fats. She runs her own coaching business through Lesley Maxwell Fitness and is the author of several fitness guides, including Get The Body You Want.
