Beckham, Cruise Bring Hollywood Glamour to World Cup

Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham brought a touch of celebrity glamour to the United States' opening World Cup match against Paraguay, as they watched the game alongside Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

The United States are the last of the three co-hosts to play, following Mexico's tournament opener on Thursday and Canada's draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier on Friday.

Appropriately for a match held in Los Angeles, the stands were filled with Hollywood star power. Sir David and Lady Beckham were spotted watching the game with the Mission: Impossible actor, just hours after the former footballer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Other famous faces in attendance included Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, actor Owen Wilson, and Modern Family star Sofia Vergara. Singer Katy Perry was seen in the crowd enjoying the action alongside her partner, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Halle Berry, known for her role as a Bond girl in the 2002 film Die Another Day, appeared on the big screen. Eighties Brat Pack star Rob Lowe, famous for films like St. Elmo's Fire and The Outsiders as well as the TV show The West Wing, was also present. Socialite Paris Hilton was spotted appearing to take a selfie when the camera cut to her.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio watched the game with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The USA are in Group D at this summer's finals, alongside Friday night's opponents Paraguay, as well as Australia and Turkey.
