The BBC has announced its refreshed broadcasting team for Wimbledon 2026, with three new faces joining the coverage following Andrew Castle's departure from the broadcaster.
New Additions to the Team
Former doubles tennis star Jamie Murray, brother of three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray, is joining the BBC alongside Laura Robson. The recently retired former doubles world number one will take on a dedicated analytical role, using enhanced match data, advanced technology, and tactical breakdowns to provide unparalleled insight into matches at SW19.
Robson, already a prominent figure in Sky Sports and TNT Sports' tennis coverage, will deliver immediate courtside reaction and expert analysis. Genie Bouchard, the 2014 women's singles finalist, is another fresh addition after well-received spells with TNT Sports and Tennis Channel.
Lead Presenters and Studio Line-Up
Clare Balding and Isa Guha will anchor daytime coverage as lead presenters. They will be joined in the studio by former British number one Tim Henman, Annabel Croft, John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King, Pat Cash, and Tracy Austin. Retired British player Kyle Edmund will also feature, and eight-time Major champion Andre Agassi will return for the tournament's climax after joining the commentary booth last year.
The BBC stated: "Agassi will provide expert analysis and unique insight into the evolution of the game, drawing on his own remarkable experiences competing for Wimbledon glory while examining the players shaping the future of the sport."
Andrew Castle's Departure
The All England Club has pushed the BBC to refresh its coverage, and the announcement follows Castle's official departure. The long-serving commentator is leaving after the 2026 tournament, having been informed of a reduced role. Castle opted to walk away entirely, making this year's Wimbledon his last with the broadcaster.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We wanted Andrew to continue with the BBC at Wimbledon next year, but he has now decided that this year will be his last. We look forward to working with him at the 2026 Championships and thank him for his great work leading our commentary team there for more than 20 years."
Comprehensive Coverage
Gigi Salmon and Clare McDonnell will present live coverage across BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC 5 Sports Extra, and BBC Sounds. Former Wimbledon champions Pat Cash and Marion Bartoli will join as expert analysts, alongside Edmund, Kim Clijsters, Annabel Croft, Naomi Broady, Mark Woodforde, Jeff Tarango, Leon Smith, Daniela Hantuchova, and Ryan Harrison.
Radio commentary is led by BBC Sport's tennis correspondent Russell Fuller, joined by Gigi Salmon, David Law, Naomi Cavaday, Jonathan Overend, Iain Carter, Katie Smith, Abigail Johnson, Qasa Alom, Sara Orchard, Maz Farookhi, Claire Thomas, and James Gregg.
The BBC has pledged that this year's coverage "promises to be the most comprehensive in BBC history," with every match across all 18 courts available to stream live on BBC iPlayer. Murray will head up analysis from a cutting-edge new studio.
