Barry Keoghan has revealed he has undergone XERF, a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment that can cost up to £4,500. The 34-year-old Saltburn star shared footage of the procedure on Instagram.
The treatment, developed in South Korea, uses radiofrequency energy to heat deeper layers of skin and stimulate collagen production. It is designed to deliver firmer, tighter-looking skin without surgery.
Celebrity Skincare Specialist Shares Footage
Celebrity skincare specialist Nilam Holmes posted footage of Keoghan reclining on a treatment bed while she moved a handheld device across his face. Wearing a white headband, the actor appeared relaxed as the device was passed over his cheeks, nose and jawline.
In the video, Keoghan said: 'I've been hearing a lot about it and Nilam is very excited about it. And she's brilliant at what she does. I really mean that.' He added: 'Every time I come in, it's very relaxing and therapeutic. Nilam looks after my skin. I feel better about myself. I look better. I think it's important to look after yourself inside and outside.'
Cost and Details of the Procedure
A single full-face treatment at Holmes's clinic costs £2,500, while a package of two sessions is priced at £4,500. Appointments last approximately 90 minutes, with the clinic claiming results can continue developing over several months and last between 12 and 18 months.
Unlike surgical procedures, XERF does not involve incisions, injections or anaesthetic, and is marketed as requiring no recovery time. It is not known whether Keoghan paid for his sessions. The treatment is also favoured by Kim Kardashian and Naomi Watts.
Public Scrutiny of His Appearance
Keoghan's revelation comes amid public scrutiny of his appearance, with social media users speculating about changes to his facial features. Following his appearance at the New York premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man in March, some questioned whether he had undergone cosmetic enhancements. However, Keoghan has never confirmed having facial fillers, and his newly revealed treatment does not involve injectable products.
Earlier this year, he admitted that online criticism had become so vicious that he sometimes struggled with the prospect of leaving his house. He told SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up: 'There's a lot of abuse of how I look. It's made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside.' He added: 'When that starts leaking into your art, it becomes a problem because then you don't even want to be on screen anymore.'
Keoghan, who shares son Brando with former partner Alyson Kierans, also expressed concern about his little boy eventually encountering the cruel remarks. He previously reflected on his heartthrob status following the success of Saltburn, telling GQ in 2024: 'It's nice not just being looked at as the weird-looking guy.' He added: 'My prettiness didn't get me this far.'
