Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway Moves Viewers to Tears with Boy's Inspiring Story

Fans of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway were left emotional this weekend after a segment featured a young boy who overcame life-altering injuries. The show's 'Happiest Minute of the Week' segment highlighted Dennis Jack Ward, a boy from East Lothian, Scotland, who taught himself to walk again after a car accident at age four.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 48, spoke to Dennis via video link. Dec told the boy: “After being in a car accident at age four, doctors said you'd never be able to use your legs again. But with superhuman determination, you have decided the odds and taught yourself to walk again. We think you are an absolute inspiration.”

Dennis, looking surprised and delighted, proudly showed he could move his legs. The segment, part of the show's final season, prompted an outpouring of emotion on social media. One viewer wrote on X: “'Happiest minute of the week' hardly, always makes me bloody cry.” Another added: “He taught himself to walk again wow well done to him.”
